Living on the lake has been one of the greatest adventures in our personal lives. The fall colors have enveloped our home making it truly a beautiful place to take a stroll and have a break from the busy life. We were thrilled when Emily and Don decided they would like to shoot at our home on Lake Muscanetcong which is near Lake Hopatcong in North Jersey. The weather was quite pleasant and the leaves were in piles all around our neighborhood. A lot of the trees had already seen their pretty days, but there were a few red and yellow trees hanging on to make pretty pictures for Emily and Don. These two are just the sweetest! After a quick cocktail, we went and walked the street in front of our home. There was a car in the distance that I really wanted to move because it was blocking what could be a beautiful shot. Being the crazy person I am, I walked up and knocked on the door of the home with the car. A very nice young lady answered and was happy to move the car. She had just moved to the neighborhood and now I have a new friend! Isn’t it fun how life works out? As we walked to the end of the road we spotted a deer looking back at us. This is “deer season” in NJ right now. He was a little too scared to stay around for his first glamour shot and ran away. :)
Emily and Don have an easy going kind of love with a dash of great style. I love when Emily said she likes the finer things in life. Girl, I couldn’t agree more! They are truly happy people…and their smiles are infectious! There was a gorgeous pile of yellow leaves that had accumulated over the week by the driveway. I definitely wanted to sit them in the leaves for a beautiful cuddle shot. Emily smiled at me with a twinkle in her eye when I asked if they wanted to throw the leaves. YES! YES! Don looked at her with an anxious smile. She was overly excited about this leaf throwing gig. I knew Emily had a huge smile that couldn’t be held back, but when she threw the leaves, overwhelming came over her. Pure JOY! I knew throwing leaves in the air was simply not enough…so we took them to our giant leaf collection in the backyard overlooking the lake. She wanted to have a leaf fight with Don- he had no idea what he was in for. It was pure awesomeness!! We were super lucky to have our neighbor, Bill, be a part of the engagement video. He is a man of many trades and one of his hobby is flying his drone. He was super excited to shoot video with us and it really made the video more dynamic. And well, it was FUN! Thanks Bill! Afterwards, we made a camp fire and hot cocoa as they snuggled on some tree trunks. The fire warmed us up as the sun started to set on that Halloween day. Emily was sporting her cute cowgirl boots and flirty dress as they shared a snuggle with their mugs. It was a perfect day for an engagement and we are so happy for Emily and Don as they plan their wedding.
Thank you for coming out to our neck of the woods! We are thrilled for you both and so excited for the wedding. We are even more excited to call you our friends. Cheers!
