Fall was making its way out as we prepared for the Gatsby themed wedding for Kailynn and Valerie to be held at Highlawn Pavilion. It was a super sunny day with big puffy clouds and no rain in sight, yeah! We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with all smiles. Kailynn was finishing hair and makeup as we arrived and the room was full of excitement. The family was packed in the small room as hairspray filled the air and laughter filled the room. This was a funny bunch and they kept us on our toes. We loved that everyone was in classic black for the Gatsby Theme. It was super classy and really suited the overall feel for the wedding with everything in black and gold. Kailynn’s red lips were the perfect touch to finish her look off. We loved her hair piece and her curled locks. She was rockin’ the bridal Gatsby look for sure! Her custom lace shoes were adorable and the bows were the perfect touch. She has such a unique style and really put her special touch on her look. Gorgeous!! In true fashion it was a little chaotic with girls on their cell phones, people asking where this was and where that was. Valerie was just down the hallway getting ready with her sweet family. Her mom and dad watched as she prepared for one of the best days of her life. Her twin brother was there to help her get ready and finish off her look. She looked super sharp in her suit and snazzy watch. Valerie’s mom was super emotional all day. It was so sweet to watch the emotions flow all day between her and her family. Everything was so special, thought out and truly sentimental. It was a very moving day…all day! These two are just so in love and their families couldn’t be more happy for them both.
Kailynn arrived at Highlawn Pavilion to get dressed before walking down the aisle to marry her wife. There was a small window of time for her and her mom to finish off her look and put her gown on. Very soon, Valerie would be waiting at the end of that aisle waiting for her. Valerie was escorted by her mom and dad down the aisle. One of my favorite images from the wedding is when her mom and dad handed her off- look for it- it was so emotional. Kailynn never looked more gorgeous as she headed down the aisle with both of her parents. Watching Valerie’s face was amazing. These two had planned and planned and now the time was finally here. The ceremony was full of laughs, beautiful readings, reminders of who we are in Jesus and lots of love. The vows were AWESOME! We couldn’t be more happier for these two ladies. It was just so perfect.
We then swooped up the wedding party and took a few moments to spend with them as a group. OMG, what a fun group of people. They took instructions well and then added to them to make them super FUN. We are so grateful for such a fabulous group- you guys were amazing. Bringing the New York City Skyline into the photos was the challenge of the day. We snagged one of the wedding party and one of the brides with the epic backdrop- #winning! We were able to spend some time with just the brides and it amazes me how long and loving these two can stare into each others eyes. Its that sweet, gushy kind of love that makes you say- AWE! Oh these two…they are just adorable!
The Gatsby theme came to life inside the reception. The music was simply amazing!! As people were making their way into the reception the most amazing music was playing. The style was a 1920’s twist on modern songs from the radio today! (Like the song above that I hope you’re listening to right now) The escort cards were typed on Kailynn’s one of a kind gift. Valerie had bought and restored an Underwood Typewriter for Kailynn as a gift. It was gorgeous and was the perfect touch for the wedding. The table numbers had bells attached to the bottom to help them sit on the table. It was fun to hear all of the bells ringing so that the brides would share a kiss! The first dances were super emotional and filled with happy tears. But it was soon followed by dancing and getting down!! There was a fun surprise when Kailynn decided to switch roles for the garter! It took everyone by surprise when Valerie actually had the garter on under her suit! Soon after we were able to sneak Kailynn and Valerie out of the party for sunset. It was gorgeous and it was nice to let them have a few moments to really soak this day in for a brief moment. The finale was a surprise that Kailynn had been planning for Valerie. A vintage white Royals Royce with a red carpet awaited them outside for the grand exit. Bubbles were flying, people were cheering and they looked quite fancy in their vintage car. Everyone waved as they rode off into the darkness to start their first day as a married couple.
Looking back and remembering how we met through a hashtag on Instagram makes us smile. It was fate. We are so grateful that these two ladies came into our lives and we are even more excited to call them our friends. Cheers to the new couple and we look forward to watching your life bloom!
