If you haven’t seen upstate New York in the Fall, you are really missing out! Bear Mountain is one of the most magical places to hike and explore in the Hudson Valley. We were head over heels for Cheryl and George the minute we met them. They were blessed to find love a second time and they treasure every moment. There wedding would be one unlike any other we have ever shot. Cheryl’s dad owns a trucking company and George has a passion for big trucks and open roads, too. We were so excited when they told us they wanted to include a Peterbilt truck in the photos and even at the reception. Holy wow! It was going to be a family affair. It was going to be the most gorgeous time of the year and it was definitely going to be unforgettable.
The day started off at Cheryl’s parent’s house where she was getting ready with all of her girls. Cloudy with a huge chance of rain was lingering in our minds, but not a drop was falling. Hair and makeup was in full swing as we got ready to go and meet George. Cheryl put on her relaxed wedding attire and cowgirl boots before heading out to meet her soon to be hubby. Cheryl and George really are the most down to earth people ever. They really remind us of being back home. Southern, big trucks, cowboy boots, and ole hospitality. We drove up to Bear Mountain to experience the Fall colors. We did a lot of climbing and walking to keep warm in the fridged temperatures. You would have never guessed Cheryl was in a dress. She hiked up the rocky side mountains like it was no big deal! You go, girl! It was magical and beautiful. And still not a drop of rain! We packed things up after realizing we were colder than we had originally thought. We all made our way to the reception that would be held at the Peterbilt Building. Right after walking through the door- BOOM- the big red Peterbilt truck in all its glory. Cheryl immediately started checking on how things were coming together and George immediately started perfecting the shine on his truck. It was after all the MVP of the reception! At this point, the rain made its way in and we decided to pop up some lighting and shoot the truck indoors. George kept getting in trouble because he was striving for a perfectly clean truck. He kept seeing little smudges and having to reclean them. We were all laughing, but Cheryl wasn’t amused. It was quite hysterical. The night was filled with close family and friends. The BBQ was AH-mazing. Just like Cheryl and George wanted…it was a sincere, intimate event.
We are so honored we were able to be apart of this special day. So happy for Cheryl, George, and Mattek as they begin this new adventure! CONGRATS and we look forward to watching your story unfold.
